Ashland Fire Station #2

Ashland, Oregon

For this $2.2 million project, Ausland tore down and replaced the seismically deficient 1960s-era fire station No. 2 in Ashland.

The building was replaced with a new, two-story, 10,500-square-foot facility with classic fire station elements and cutting edge upgrades, including two new engine bays. The project included a new tap-out system, photovoltaic system, and a solar hot water system.

Huge beams of laminated fir dominate the vertical and horizontal lines of the new building and concrete forms were used to create a rugged visual statement to the street side face.

Green Project

More than 90% of the demolished building materials were re-used or recycled.
