CHEERS TO THE RISE OF CALDERA BREWERY

Homegrown and ready to Grow

Jim Mills started Caldera Brewing Company in 1996, a homegrown Ashland-based business. Just over a decade later, his success had grown beyond the confines of the 6,000 square foot brewery on Clover Lane and Caldera Tap House on Water Street in downtown Ashland. Demand was up and he needed to greatly increase his brewing capacity.

Adding Value In High Spirits

Jim had a vision for a new home for his award-winning beer, complete with plans, land and City approvals. After he had asked multiple contractors for bids, it was clear the cost of the new facility was greater than anticipated. This is when Ausland’s team of creative design and construction professionals stepped in.

Good Budgeting Makes Good Beer

Ausland’s value-engineering team found savings of over $350,000 by creative redesign of the parking lot, retaining walls, and alternative approaches to meeting building code. Ausland helped the vision become a reality. Until clients hand out blank checks, Ausland will keep doing innovative design work to make projects fit budgets. Today stands a 28,000 square foot brewery, distillery, restaurant and tasting room, the new home for Caldera Brewery.

Cheers to Caldera!
