Aaron Ausland, CCM

Chief Executive Officer

Aaron leads Ausland’s strategic vision and oversight of our senior management team. He is the only Certified Program Manager in Southern Oregon and plays and important role in the organization and programming of Ausland’s capital improvement and capital campaign endeavors.

Aaron graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Oregon State University, majoring in construction engineering management. He minored in business studies.

He is a member of the Southern Oregon Angel Investors Network, Board President of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development (SOREDI), University Liaison for Oregon Chapter of Construction Management Association of America, and Board Director of Josephine County Education Fund.

Fun Fact: Enjoys cooking interesting ethnic foods and likes to fish.

Kelsy Ausland, PE

President / Construction Operations Manager

Kelsy leads land development and engineering endeavors while overseeing the daily operations of Ausland Group. She is a licensed engineer in Oregon and California and is a LEED-Green Associate.

Kelsy has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Kelsy also studied environmental engineering at the University of Nottingham in Great Britain, and Spanish in Ecuador.  She was distinguished by her alma mater with the 2010 Oregon Stater Award for “Outstanding Early Career Achievement.”

Kelsy enjoys volunteering for many local community non-profits, including Britt Festivals, where she is on the board of directors.

Fun Fact: Kelsy likes to spend weekends at her cabin exploring remote parts of the Rogue River and Illinois River Wilderness.

Greg Ausland, PE

Principal, Sr. Project Manager

Greg brings over 30 years of award winning design and project management experience to every project.  He is licensed to practice in Oregon and California and is accomplished with a diverse engineering background.  Greg is extremely successful helping clients to economically and efficiently realize their vision.

Greg graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and is a distinguished alumnus of Lane Community College.  He is a member of the Oregon West Network, Covered Bridge Society of Ore., and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Fun Fact:  An avid cyclist and skier, he hopes to someday visit all of the grand lodges in the national parks system.

Jeff Baerman

VP of Finance & Administration

Jeff is a master at company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions that ensure Ausland is running efficiently.

Fun Fact: Jeff is an enthusiastic bowler.

Kara Bijesse

Administrative Assistant / Marketing Assistant

Kara comes to Ausland from Microsoft of Silicon Valley. She brings a strong background in Event Management and Operations. Kara is passionate about helping others and problem solving for her clients and teammates.

Fun Fact: In her free time, Kara loves to spend time outdoors hiking & camping with her fiance, Andrew, and two dogs, Bhodi & Calvin.

Jeanette Blankenship

Administrative Coordinator

She’s been running a professional office for over twenty years.  Her clockwork-like reliability keeps our team efficient and effective.

Fun Fact: Native to Southern Oregon, she loves to spend time in the great outdoors with her family camping, hiking and back-packing.


Otis Blankenship


Otis Blankenship has been involved in the heavy construction industry for over 35 years performing and managing technically challenging projects in the field. As Superintendent, Otis oversees all earthwork and underground activities inclduing daily QC/QA efforts.

Fun Fact: Otis really enjoys working in his spare time.

Michele Bullinger

CAD Drafter

Michele comes to Ausland from King Retail Solutions in Eugene, Oregon. She has extensive experience in Interior Architecture and Design, including systems furniture planning and construction management. Michele enjoys working clients to ensure excellence.

Fun Fact: She is a direct descendant of the Studebaker (car) family. Although, while Gen-Xers might have heard of it, Millennials haven’t a clue.

Kayla Bundy

Architectural Intern / Designer

Kayla is a recent University of Oregon graduate in architecture. Born and raised in Eugene, she is passionate about elegant solutions and brings enthusiasm to the team.

Fun Fact: Kayla loves to garden in her free time.

Scott Cerovac

Project Manager

Scott is a diligent and detail oriented supervisor that excels with challenging projects. He has successfully managed projects of all sizes and shapes, up and down the West Coast

Fun fact: Scott enjoys riding dirt bikes and quads with his family.

Tiffany Clogston

Accounts Payable Specialist / Accounting Assistant

Tiffany is a hardworking, task-oriented individual and thrives in fast paced environments. Originally a teacher, project coordinator, and payroll specialist. Tiffany brings energy and enthusiasm to the workplace.

Fun Fact: She enjoys learning, being outdoors-especially near a lake or river, and throwing dinner parties for friends and family.

Jon Goldstien

Civil Engineering Designer

Jon is an extremely detailed oriented professional, with over 17+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering Design and CAD Drafting Services.

Fun Fact: He loves to travel and plays bass guitar and piano.

Greg Hatch

Field Manager

Greg is an outstanding Field Manager with over 24 years in the con-struction industry. His extensive ex-perience has given him the ability to stay organized and work well with his coworkers and clients.

Fun Fact: Greg is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hunting and fishing.

Alan Harper

Development Specialist

Alan’s experience as a top land use attorney in Southern Oregon lends to his gift for turning the most difficult development challenges into successful outcomes.

Fun Fact: Early in his career, Alan moon- lighted selling wine at the Jacksonville Inn.

Scott Heroux

Project Manager

Scott has been in the construction industry for the past 30 years working on projects from commercial and residential ranging from TI, remodels and ground up buildings. He has meticulous attention to detail from start to finish. Proven track record on efficiently managing projects with properly sequenced schedules.

Fun Fact: Scott fishes in Bass tournaments with Crater Bass, a fishing club based in Medford. He is the only angler to win the “Big Fish of the Year” trophy 3 times.

Tyler Hogenson

Project Coordinator

Tyler is an outstanding and dedicated project coordinator. His attention to detail and ability to solve problems helps projects move quickly and efficiently.

Fun Fact: Abnormally competitive and enjoys playing golf.

Mick Hornbeck

Architectural Designer

Mick brings over 10-years of professional skill as a draftsman and critical thinker to the Ausland Team.

Fun Fact: He spends his free time renovating his 1975 Airstream.

James Ivey


James is a dedicated superintendent with over 30+ years in the industry.  His hard work and excellent leadership make him an asset to our company.

Fun Fact: When not hard at work, James spends his time on the golf course.

Anne Jenkins

Special Initiatives

Anne comes to us after 17 years at Travel Medford, and brings with her a strong background in development, event planning, marketing and promotion.

Fun Fact: Her life is filled with family, laughter and smiles, and, of course, boat surfing.

Katie Johnson

Accounting Assistant

Katie joins Ausland after an 18-year career with a consulting engineering firm. A native Californian, she’s excited to make the Rogue Valley her new home.

Fun Fact: Katie once spent two summers at sea learning to sail and tracking blue whales off the coast of Santa Barbara.

Tom Jordan

Senior Project Manager

An outstanding Senior Project Leader, Tom brings more than 26 years’ experience and expertise in all facets of commercial constructions. From design review through project management, he is highly skilled in collaborating with clients, architects, public agencies, subcontractors and internal management to achieve business and financial objectives.

He has also been instrumental in streamlining and improving processes, enhancing productivity, and implementing standard policies and construction practices on multiple small to large scale projects in both Oregon and California. His dedicated work ethic, friendly demeanor and strong interpersonal skills make him a strong asset to Ausland.

Fun Fact: Tom enjoys playing tennis and pickleball.

Darrin Kerr


Darrin is industrious and works tirelessly to ensure projects run smoothly. He brings his enthusiasm and experience in all areas of construction as a leader that works well with whomever he meets.

Fun Fact:  Darrin was a high school all American wrestler.

Charlie Kroning, PE

Senior Engineering Manager

Charlie has over 35 years of experience in virtually all facets of land development engineering and site development construction, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon and California. He was born and raised in northern Illinois, and has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

Site planning, design, and development are among Charlie’s strengths, and he is well known for his staff mentoring skills and motivational management style.


Fun Fact: Charlie was recruited to play college football, but chose to study civil engineering instead.  What a nerd!

Cindy Long

Payroll Specialists / Accounting Assistant

Cindy has worked in the Construction Administrative Trade since 2006. She recently moved back to Southern Oregon to be closer to grandkids. In Cindy’s free time weather permitting she works in the yard tending to her flowers.

Nancy Maxwell

Director of People Success

With a career that has spanned more than 25 years as a motivational speaker and in the human resources world, Nancy is the person that unifies the Ausland team into a cohesive group.

Running her own non-profit charity for 10 years, living over seas and her love of travel all feed into Nancy’s compassion and ability to relate to people of varied backgrounds and experiences.

A true fan of Disney movies and a strong desire to “pay it forward” through volunteer work for many wonderful causes, she embraces her optimistic spirt which encourages the rest of the staff to take a positive outlook.

Fun Fact: Nancy is a certified pumpkin master and a certified private plane pilot.

Bill McMillan


A renaissance man, Bill is spectacular at crew management in the field where he works tirelessly to make sure that projects run smoothly.

Fun Fact: Managing the Southern Oregon Wine Institute project   made him a devotee of Oregon wine.

Scott Metzler. PE, SE

Senior Structural Engineer

Scott brings over 33 years’ experience in Structural and Civil Engineering. He specializes in com-mercial, industrial, and educational buildings, and is highly skilled in seismic renovations.

Fun Fact: Scott has completed an Ironman Triathlon and regularly competes in 100 mile mountain bike races.

Kate Miller

Design Project Manager

Born and raised in Seattle. And happy to call Oregon home after attending U of O to study Architecture. Has worked as a designer on a wide range of commercial project from high education to transit master plans, and operations command centers. Kate is a strong conceptual designer, experienced project manager, and loves the challenge of remodels.

Fun fact: In Kate’s free time she loves to be outdoors hiking, playing and riding a KTM 150xc.

Roger Montgomery


Roger is a season supervisor with over 40-years’ experience in the construction industry. He is known for his reliable and quality-focused work.

Fun Fact: In his free time, Roger enjoys mountain biking.

Rich Pacheco


Rich is a dedicated employee who has made carpentry his lifelong career. He is committed to making every project he works on a success.

Fun Fact: When he’s not working, you’ll find Rich on the golf course or with a fishing pole in hand.

Scott Pigman

Architect/Sr. Design Project Manager

Scott brings over 22 years of architectural experience in design, development and construction of commercial, industrial, government, and residential properties.

Fun Fact: An avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoys many of the activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Jeff Rook


With over 25 years experience, Jeff excels at technically complex projects and manages large construction crews with ease.

Fun Fact: Jeff is an avid fly fisherman.

Craig Runyon

Director of Customer Success

As the Director of Customer Success, Craig is a strong advocate for Ausland’s customers ensuring needs are met and projects wind up as a success. He guides the firm’s marketing and business development efforts specifically focusing on the Eugene area where he is based.

With a career that spans the journalism, graphic design, government and architecture fields, he has a broad blend of experience that provides him with knowledge and expertise in a number of areas.

Fun Fact: Craig is a big-time soccer fan having attended more than 200 professional soccer games in the US and Europe. He coaches his daughter’s elementary school team and loves teaching the girls about the game.

Lynsey Turek

Human Resource Specialist

Lynsey Turek, SHRM-CP brings 19 years of Human Resource experience. 

Lynsey grew up in Grants Pass and after working internationally and out of state there is no place like home. She has been lovingly married to Chris since 1999, they have 2 active children and a crackerjack Labrador.

Fun Fact: Lynsey enjoys participating in kids sports, snowmobiling, bicycling, cross country skiing, traveling, and drinking kombucha. Time with family/friends and enjoying each day God has given to help others is a day well spent.

Sherman Welch


A long-time resident of Phoenix, AZ, Sherman has left the red rocks to make the beautiful Pacific Northwest his home. A dedicated Superintendent, he brings over 37 years of industry experience to the Ausland Team.

Fun Fact: In his free time, he likes to hunt, fish and ride his Harley.


Joel Woodward

Architectural Job Captain & Draftsman

Joel has spent the last 28 years honing skills in architectural design and drafting. He also brings 18 years of experience in the field.  Joel studied computer aided design at Oregon Polytechnic University. He brings a creative and innovate approach to his role as Architectural Job Captain and Draftsman.

Fun Fact: According to Joel, he is,“no fun at all!” His colleagues beg to differ!

Julia Wright

Executive Assistant

Julia is passionate about helping people and takes client service personally.   She is cheerful and outgoing, and thrives on any challenge thrown her way.

Fun fact: Julia an experienced world traveler and one day hopes to become a published romance author.

Troy Yoho

Controls / Contracts Manager

Troy has over ten years of operations, controls, and contracts experience. He has a Bachelor of Science in Law and Legal Studies from United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and is a Certified Project Management Professional.

Prior to joining Ausland, Troy built and lead corporate cross functional teams to solve complex manufacturing issues. He has experience planning, organizing, and executing in all facets of operations. His dedication for family, work and the community make Troy a great asset for Ausland.

 Fun fact: Troy once escorted Lou Holtz while on tour in Afghanistan. 

Logan Zenk

Project Engineering Coordinator

A dedicated engineer, Logan thrives on developing creative solutions to any problem.

Fun fact: Logan once participated in the very difficult and grueling Crater Lake Rim Half Marathon Run.


William Ausland

4th Generation Engineer

With his bounding curiosity, he keeps Aaron and Kelsy on their toes, providing a sense of perspective and endless supply of laughs.

Fun Fact: His favorite past time is jet boating.

Zack Secrest

In memory of

We forever hold in memory, our former Vice President of Operations, Zack Secrest.   He passed away in his sleep on November 27th, 2012 from complications with epilepsy.

Zack motivated our team to achieve extraordinary project and individual success.  During his six years at Ausland he helped accomplish spectacular growth and success on Southern Oregon’s top projects.  He was our friend, a mentor, a colleague, and had become family to many of us.

In his personal life, Zack was a member of the BMX community for over 30 years, racing at BMX tracks throughout the U.S. and Canada.  He was a fierce competitor and mentor to many in the racing community.

We move forward, grateful for six years we spent with Zack, and are dedicated to accomplishing extraordinary success in his legacy.
