David has a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Oregon. Prior to joining Ausland, he was in private practice for over 15 years. Because of this, he has experience in all aspects of the architectural practice in a wide range of commercial, educational, healthcare, and institutional projects. David has lived in the small town of Cottage Grove for 25 years with his wife, two kids, and dog Otis, and in those 25 years has served on the Cottage Grove Planning Commission, Historic Landmarks Commission, and on numerous community groups.
Originally from Lansing, Michigan, David has lived in Western Oregon nearly all his life. And while he loves Oregon dearly, David identifies himself as a Midwesterner through and through. His dream is to expand hockey culture in the northwest and to watch the Detroit Redwings win their 12th Stanley Cup. He’d also like to eventually build a wooden sailboat.
His claim to fame is that he has performed in the Pucinni’s Turandot Opera.
