Selected by Bonneville through a best-value selection process, Ausland construed a control facility for a collector substation to facilitate a new wind farm development. The collector substation provides metering and control of the wind farm as the power is transmitted into the grid. Ausland designed and built the facility in just 12 weeks.
The project was part of Bonneville’s plan to have up to 6,000-megawatts wind power by 2013.
The wind farm has a capacity of 100.8-megawatts – enough to power 28,000 homes with clean energy each year.
