Weekend Beer Company

Ausland Group was a part of the Weekend Beer Company team since project conception in early 2020. Popularity for Weekend Beer Company’s taps created a demand that exceeded their capacity of their leased building space. The owners desired to create a new location to fit their visions of growth and allow them to thrive within the handcuffs put on restaurants and indoor gathering spaces. When the pandemic hit, the design team quickly had to address a new critical element of the project – how to create a safe space for families and all patrons? The taproom design focus turned to embracing indoor/outdoor spaces that maximize fresh air flow and removing barriers or surfaces that were touch points.

The completed project boasts a huge outdoor courtyard that is the central focus of the facility. Three garage doors blur the relationship between indoor and outdoor service spaces. The outdoor courtyard design is multifaceted and creates areas for food carts, eating, and lots of entertainment!  An outdoor pergola wraps the corner of the building, creating shade in the summer and shelter in the winter, encouraging outdoor gathering in both warm and cooler weather. 

The Ausland team crafted a design that embodied the client’s vision and was expertly guided from start to finish. Now this gem of Grants Pass is helping a previously dormant neighborhood find its stride. The structure highlights Ausland’s signature design and Weekend Beer Company’s business philosophy of living your weekend by doing something you love every day of the week.
