This project, located at the heart of a very remote and busy trade-school training program, included a new cafeteria and demolition of buildings 1329 (dormitory) and 1404 (dining hall) at the Wolf Creek Civilian Conservation Center located at the Wolf Creek Job Corps Center in Glide, Oregon. The project was required to stay open 24 hours due to the dormitories. Winter weather and unknown utilities encountered challenged the project. While the end-user (occupant) is the U.S. Forest Service, procurement was through the Department of Labor stationed out of their Washington D.C. office. Coordination between the owner (U.S. Department of Labor) and Tenant (U.S. Forest Service) was critical to the project’s success.
